How to make common sense a common practice

One way to shift the balance between reactive and proactive project management is to raise awareness about the importance of the project manager being competent in:
• the operation/implementation of management activities; and,
• the management of the project's administrative processes.
Most of the literature on Project Management and the training that organizations offer their employees on the subject focuses on the operation/implementation of the project, supported by the application of methods and tools.
This book is intended to add a next level of more conscious driving with the purpose of promoting:
• that issues relevant to the DP are addressed and management activities are carried out appropriately,
• that the effort in the DP is focused where it creates the most value for the progress of the project,
• that the DP techniques implemented by the organization are appropriate for the type of project; and,
• that relevant stakeholders are also involved in management activities.
